Sustainability is the goal.

Our Commitment to a Sustainable Future: Unigrà and the 2030 Agenda

We live in an era in which the climate, environmental, and social crises require decisive action. Extreme weather events, resource shortages, biodiversity loss, and labor exploitation are global challenges that we cannot ignore.

In response, in September 2015, the 193 member countries of the UN signed the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a global action plan divided into 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This “to-do list” for people and the planet aims to end poverty, protect the environment, and ensure peace and prosperity by 2030.

Unigrà recognizes that achieving sustainable development requires the active contribution of the private sector.
For this reason, we have been committed to the concrete implementation of this agenda from the outset.

Listening and Analysis: Defining Our Priorities

Unigrà has defined its sustainability objectives based on feedback from its stakeholders: these individuals were involved, through a listening process, in the materiality analysis, aimed at identifying the most relevant common issues for the entire stakeholder community (both internal and external to the company).

Sixteen key issues emerged that guide our sustainability strategy (use the same structure as the current website):

  • Integrity and ethics
  • Corporate reputation
  • Environmental compliance
  • Climate and energy
  • Waste and scrap management
  • Traceability and transparency
  • Economic performance
  • Food safety
  • Health
  • Certifications
  • Product quality
  • Selected raw materials
  • Health and safety at work
  • Equal opportunities
  • Incentives
  • Professional development

Economic Sustainability

In the era of SDGs, companies are called upon to create shared value. For Unigrà, this means developing responsible business models, promoting innovation and technological development, and encouraging collaboration between all players in the supply chain. We actively work to contribute to SDGs 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

There can be no sustainable development without a strong social dimension. This is an essential condition for economic growth that is not only environmentally responsible but also socially inclusive. We are committed to ensuring the well-being, safety, and professional development of our people and to contributing positively to the communities in which we operate.
